Overview

This describes what data EthioDeploy collects, why, and how it's handled. We collect what's needed to build and run your deployments, verify payments, and keep the platform working: nothing beyond that, and we don't sell your data.

Data we collect

Account data: your GitHub username, email, and avatar, provided when you sign in with GitHub via OAuth.

Repository access:a scoped GitHub App installation token limited to the repos you choose to deploy. We don't get access to your whole GitHub account.

Deployment data: your source code (pulled at build time), build logs, environment variables you configure, and deployment history for your projects.

Billing data: for bank- transfer verification through verify.et, we handle the transfer reference, sender name, and amount you submit. We never see or store your card or bank login credentials, since payment is a manual bank transfer, not a card charge.

Usage and infra data:resource usage per project (for quota/overage calculation), and basic request/session metadata (IP address, session cookies) used to keep you signed in and to secure the platform.

How we use it

  • To build, deploy, and serve your projects.
  • To verify bank transfers and activate plans or wallet credit.
  • To detect fraud, such as reused or fabricated payment references.
  • To calculate usage against your plan and bill overage.
  • To respond to support requests you send us.
  • To monitor infrastructure health and investigate incidents.

Who we share it with

We share data with the third parties needed to run the service:

  • GitHub: for authentication and pulling your repository at build time.
  • verify.et: for confirming bank transfers against our settlement accounts.
  • Cloudflare: for DNS and routing on custom domains.
  • Our hosting providers: the servers your projects and data run on.

We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Data retention

We keep your account, project, and deployment data while your account is active. If you delete a project, its running deployment is torn down; build logs and history may be retained briefly for support and debugging purposes before being cleared. Billing verification records are kept as needed for financial and fraud records.

Security

Traffic to EthioDeploy is encrypted in transit (TLS). GitHub App tokens are scoped to only the repos you install the app on. We don't store card numbers or bank credentials, since billing is a manual bank transfer confirmed by a third-party verification service rather than a card charge we process ourselves.

Your choices

You can revoke EthioDeploy's GitHub App access at any time from your GitHub account settings. To request a copy of your data, or to request deletion of your account and associated data, email [email protected].

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
