Agent mode

An AI coding agent that deploys your code

Most AI tools hand you code to copy and paste. The EthioDeploy agent works inside a live copy of your repo: it edits files, runs your build and tests, and shows you a diff. When you approve, it ships as a pull request with a preview URL.

Last updated September 29, 2026

Try it freeRead the docs

Runs your code

Installs, builds, tests and lints in a real sandbox, not a guess.

Ships as a PR

Commits to its own branch, opens a pull request, posts a preview.

Live preview

Runs your dev server in the sandbox so you can see the change.

Nothing without approval

Your repo is untouched until you review the diff and click Apply.

How it works

  1. 1

    Open the workspace

Click Open workspace on your project's Home tab. We clone your repo into a private sandbox on a new agent branch.

  2. 2

    Describe the change

Ask in plain language: fix a bug, add a page, upgrade a dependency. The agent reads your code before it edits anything.

  3. 3

    It builds and tests

The agent edits files and runs your install, build, tests or linter inside the sandbox, so it can check its own work.

  4. 4

    Review the real diff

The Diff tab shows every change. The Preview tab runs your dev server in the sandbox for supported stacks.

  5. 5

    Apply

Pick Just open a PR or Merge into your default branch. We push the agent branch, open the pull request, and create a branch preview.

What it can do

In the sandbox the agent can run shell commands, read and write files, and list directories. The sandbox includes Git, Node 22 with npm, pnpm and yarn, Bun, Python 3, Ruby, Go, PHP with Composer and common build tools. It follows your project's install, build and start settings, and a single message can use up to 30 tool steps.

Pick the model per message: Claude, GPT, Qwen and many more. Larger models handle long, multi-step tasks better. The default, Qwen3 Coder 30B, is small, so switch to a larger model for big refactors.

You stay in control

  • The agent works on its own agent/<id> branch. It doesn't touch your default branch.
  • Nothing is pushed until you click Apply, and you can delete a session to throw its changes away.
  • Starting a session, chatting and applying need the Developer role or higher.
  • Sessions go idle after 30 minutes without tool activity and are removed after 7 days, so apply anything you want to keep.

Full details, limits and session behavior are in the Agent mode docs.

Questions

Does the agent change my repo directly?

No. It works in a private sandbox on its own agent/<id> branch. Nothing is pushed to GitHub until you review the diff and click Apply.

Which models can I use?

You pick a model in the workspace: Claude, GPT, Qwen and many more through the AI Gateway. The default is Qwen3 Coder 30B, which is also the only model available during the free trial.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every account gets a one-time budget of 100,000 tokens on the default model, enough for a handful of turns or one small feature. After that you subscribe to an agent plan.

How much do agent plans cost?

Starter is $5 a month (950 ETB), Pro is $20 (2,999 ETB) and Max is $50 (8,999 ETB). Each includes credit for model usage, and a prepaid wallet covers anything extra.

What happens when I click Apply on the Free hosting plan?

The changes are committed and pushed to the agent branch. Branch preview deployments and the automatic pull request depend on your hosting plan's branch limit, which is zero on Free, so on Free you open the pull request yourself.

Who can use it on a team project?

Starting a session, chatting and applying need the Developer role or higher. Viewers can open the page. Usage is charged to the project owner's account.

Connect a repo and try the agent on the free trial.
