EthioDeploy vs Railway

Railway bills by the resources you use. EthioDeploy sells plans with a usage quota. Both deploy containers from GitHub. Here is how they differ in pricing, payments and AI.

Which should you pick?

Pick Railway if

  • You prefer pure usage-based billing, with stopped services costing nothing.
  • You want to run many services and databases as templates on one canvas.

Pick EthioDeploy if

  • You want predictable monthly plans with a managed Postgres or Redis addon that injects its connection string for you.
  • You want to pay in Birr by bank transfer as well as by card.
  • You want an AI coding agent that edits your repo in a sandbox and opens a pull request.

Questions

Is EthioDeploy an alternative to Railway?

For simple GitHub-to-container deploys with a managed database and a built-in AI agent, yes. If you want pure pay-for-what-you-use billing, Railway fits better.

How does billing differ?

Railway charges a subscription plus the compute you use. EthioDeploy sells flat monthly plans with a usage quota, and any overage comes from a prepaid wallet.

Can I use EthioDeploy without an international card?

Yes. Pay in Ethiopian Birr by bank transfer, or by card in USD. Railway's documentation lists credit cards for plan subscriptions.
